Meet Aleph Zero

Public blockchain with private smart contracts

Aleph Zero is a peer-reviewed DAG-based platform that’s scalable, private, and developer-friendly.

Aleph Zero is a Proof-of-Stake public blockchain with private smart contracts built from the first principles. We combined an original consensus protocol with a privacy framework based on ZK-SNARKs and sMPC with the Substrate stack.

Core Features

That's
why it works

SCALABILITY

Aleph Zero’s peer-reviewed consensus protocol (AlephBFT) achieved 89,600 tx/s with a 416 ms confirmation time in a decentralized test setting of 112 AWS nodes spread across five continents.

DECENTRALIZATION

Aleph Zero is the first decentralized Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG)-based platform with a large, rotating, random committee.

PRIVATE SMART CONTRACTS

Liminal, Aleph Zero’s original privacy framework, is based not only on ZK-SNARKs but also takes advantage of Secure Multi-Party Computation concepts.

NEAR-FREE TRANSFER TRANSACTIONS

Simple value transfers are, and always will be, extremely cheap.

DEX & DECENTRALIZED DARK POOL

Common is the first product we’re building on top of Aleph Zero. It’s a Decentralized Exchange and a Decentralized Dark Pool.

HUB AND SPOKE OPERATIONS MODEL

Easily sync your application to the Aleph Zero’s ledger.

FILE STORAGE

Application Programming Interface (API) hooks that allow for a seamless integration into InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) as well as proprietary data solutions.

Aleph Zero Ecosystem

Building a multichain world

We trust that enterprises and SMBs can greatly benefit from a public, peer-reviewed platform with private transactions. Aleph Zero will also be capable of synchronizing with other blockchains and running smart contracts—and its privacy framework can be used on all the major chains. Moreover, the team is working on a truly trustless universal wallet called Common

Why we are building Aleph Zero

To solve the unsolvable

  • Privacy Challenge

Business models based on selling user data are the foundation of Web 2.0. While there are some obvious benefits—especially conveniece—that the users receive in return, we believe this approach needs to evolve. Your digital identity should be under your control.

Aleph Zero privacy framework is built using ZK-SNARKs and sMPC.

  • Security Challenge

Distributed Ledger Technologies are considered immune to most attacks thanks to their decentralization. But in many cases, they don’t provide theoretical security guarantees which makes them less practical to use long-term.

Aleph Zero provides both practical, and maximum theoretical security guarantees (aBFT).

  • Scalability Challenge

As known research points, there is a trade-off between security and speed in every blockchain. When operating on a high scale, to maintain security, most blockchains are bound to low transaction speeds.

Aleph Zero is both secure and fast when operating on a large scale.

  • Sustainability Challenge

Blockchains that are based on Proof-of-Work protocols are highly inefficient at scale. Mining requires high computing power which contributes to high energy consumption needed to run the network

    Aleph Zero is mining-free.

  • Speed Challenge

The point of Proof-of-Work protocol is to slow the network down. Many blockchains, in order to improve speed and scalability, are sacrificing their decentralization and security. You either send your assets securely, or deal with various compromises.

Aleph Zero performs transactions in seconds while ensuring their safety.
