Monthly Review: January 2025
Feb 5, 2025

We’ve started the year with roadmap updates and news around Common—the key project benefitting from Aleph Zero’s privacy tech. We’re working tirelessly to improve every aspect of the project—from new integrations to ecosystem expansion. Here’s your January update for all things Aleph Zero!
While 2024 was a year of laying down critical foundations, 2025 is shaping up to be a year of tangible growth with real products, for real users. We’ve recently shared our roadmap for how Aleph Zero is creating a global framework for interchain privacy in 2025. But right now, let’s dive into all the progress we’ve already made in this exciting first month.
Delivering on network decentralization with Uqbar going live
The latest iteration of the original Aleph Zero network is in the final stages before Mainnet 14.0 Uqbar is introduced.
Following the Testnet phase, validators are already transitioning to Aleph Node version 14.0. Once the node upgrade deadline passes on February 12, the entire Mainnet will be updated to version 14.0.
Uqbar brings new block sync protocol, removes the max nominator limit and most importantly–paves the way for a fully decentralized block production of Aleph Zero which will come with Mainnet 15.0.

AZERO on Fireblocks
Custody is still a necessary solution for many enterprise partners. That’s why we’re excited that Fireblocks started supporting AZERO. This opens up AZERO and our technology for an institutional customer base of over 2,000 parties who have transferred over $6 trillion in assets and created over 250 million wallets to date.

Giving back with Digital Hearts NFTs
Aleph Zero supported The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOSP) alongside Influ in its charity fundraising efforts. This year, the event’s focus was on pediatric oncology and hematology, with funds being directed towards improving the safety and health of children all across Poland.
WOSP is the largest non-governmental charity organization in Poland and a cultural phenomenon for over 30 years now. This campaign offered limited-edition NFTs on Aleph Zero, which were designed by Jurek Owsiak, the organization’s founder.

Aleph Zero and Across on X Spaces
There’s a lot coming in the future for Aleph Zero and Across as we partner to bring forward a shared vision for interchain privacy. Across brings super-fast bridging thanks to its intent-based architecture–this is also a key building block to Aleph Zero’s interchain privacy made available with zkOS. Both teams sat down this month on X Spaces for a deep dive on Across, Aleph Zero, and how these two projects can work together.
Listen to both recordings of the event on this X thread.
Breaking down the future of OpenFi and Aleph Zero’s core role within it with idOS
This month, we also had a quick catchup with idOS, a decentralized identity network that plays a key role in the Aleph Zero EVM network. idOS has been a key Aleph Zero partner in building solutions for what’s becoming known as OpenFi.

Last weekend, Aleph Zero attended the Crypto Community Conference in Łódź, Poland, which brought together all the biggest names in Polish crypto and was spearheaded by a well-known Polish blockchain community called KryptoEkipa.
Next, we’ll be joining Consensus Hong Kong, so if you’re planning being there–let us know!
Common: 2025 roadmap, Common App testing, and CMN tokenomics release
The Common 2025 roadmap is now available, which is focused on delivering seamless and private user experience while showcasing Aleph Zero’s technology.
