MOST Bridge Now Connects Aleph Zero L1 and Aleph Zero L2 Testnets
Aleph Zero EVM and WASM are now connected on Testnets!
MOST, the native bridge of Aleph Zero, has successfully connected Aleph Zero WASM Layer 1 (L1) with Aleph Zero EVM (L2) on Testnets. This development marks another significant milestone in the Aleph Zero ecosystem, paving the way for seamless asset transfer between the two layers and enabling a more interconnected and efficient environment.
Expanding horizons: MOST bridge goes beyond Ethereum
Until now, MOST has been instrumental in bridging Aleph Zero WASM with Ethereum, offering users a streamlined method to transfer assets between these networks. However, users who wished to utilize Aleph Zero EVM had to rely on the canonical bridge, canbridge.alephzero.org, to facilitate asset transfers from Ethereum to Aleph Zero EVM.
With this latest update, MOST now supports direct bridging between Aleph Zero WASM L1 and Aleph Zero EVM L2 on Testnets. This enhancement will significantly improve the user experience, enabling the free flow of AZERO, the native coin of the Aleph Zero network, between these two critical layers.
What This Means for You
For users and developers, this development is a game-changer. The integration of MOST with Aleph Zero EVM L2 means that you can now easily transfer AZERO between L1 and L2, fostering greater flexibility and utility within the Aleph Zero ecosystem. This is particularly exciting as many projects are gearing up to deploy their applications on Aleph Zero EVM.
As part of this launch, we have implemented an initial transaction limit of 1,000 AZERO per transaction on both the Mainnet and Testnet. This temporary limit is a precautionary measure to ensure stability and security during the early stages of operation. After a few weeks of successful operation, this limit will be lifted, allowing for even greater transaction volumes.
Why Bridge to Aleph Zero EVM?
The connection of MOST to Aleph Zero EVM comes at a pivotal time as the ecosystem continues to grow and attract new projects. Soon, you’ll be able to leverage Camelot DEX to swap assets directly on Aleph Zero EVM and earn additional farming rewards. Furthermore, the first consumer-centric application powered by VIB3S has already gained significant traction, drawing over 5,000 users to Aleph Zero EVM and contributing to the network’s expansion, which now boasts over 20,000 accounts.
This momentum underscores the increasing demand for a robust and versatile EVM environment within Aleph Zero, and MOST’s new capabilities will be crucial in supporting this growth.
How to bridge to Aleph Zero EVM?
Using the newly connected MOST bridge to transfer assets between Aleph Zero WASM L1 and Aleph Zero EVM L2 is simple and straightforward. Here’s how you can do it:
- Visit the Bridge Interface: Go to test.common.fi/bridge.
- Select Your Networks: Choose “Aleph Zero” as your source network and “Aleph Zero EVM” as your destination network.
- Connect Your Wallets: Connect your EVM-compatible wallet and your Aleph Zero wallet. We have tested compatibility with the following EVM browser extension wallets:
- MetaMask
- Trust Wallet
- Rabby
- Rainbow
- SubWallet
- Coinbase Wallet
- Complete the Transfer: Once your wallets are connected, you can initiate and complete the transfer of AZERO between Aleph Zero WASM L1 and Aleph Zero EVM L2.
Note: On some wallets, you may need to manually import the Aleph Zero EVM Testnet to the wallet before you can switch the network. The necessary RPC address and Chain ID can be found in the Aleph Zero documentation.
What’s Next?
While this announcement pertains to the Testnet, we are excited to share that the Mainnet release of MOST’s connectivity between Aleph Zero WASM L1 and Aleph Zero EVM L2 is on the horizon.
