  • Developer Relations: Technology (m/f/div)

    Aleph Zero was established in early 2018 with a vision to provide the first truly scalable, decentralized, and open-sourced DLT ecosystem. After almost three years on the market, we’re confident that we’re going in the right direction.

    We’re building a new blockchain platform using our novel protocols published in scientific papers. We work on problems in the fields of cryptography, concurrent algorithms, and distributed systems. In order to solve those challenges, we need your help. We’re using Rust—a cutting-edge language that’s rapidly gaining traction—and Substrate, which is a Rust framework for blockchain development.

    You’ll be working directly with our in-house marketing and web development team.

    This is a full-time equivalent position.

    What you will do:
    • provide guidance for community members in areas such as:
      • deployment of ink! smart contracts on our networks;
      • setting up server to run a node in our network (both in cloud and locally);
    • provide general end-user assistance from the technical standpoint in Intercom, via mail, as well as during onboarding and check-in calls;
    • help us build software documentation based on the feedback from the community.
    What you need to start in this role:
    • at least a year of experience as a software engineer;
    • at least a year of experience with Linux-based operating systems;
    • basic scripting and network skills;
    • broficiency in English, both written and spoken. This is a must!
    • high interpersonal skills;
    • general knowledge about blockchain, crypto, DLTs, NFTs, and other associated technologies.
    Nice to have’s:
    • prior experience writing smart contract;
    • understanding crypto memes;
    • prior experience in similar positions.

  • DevOps Engineer (m/f/div)

    We need to find someone who knows:

    AWS:

    • EC2,
    • AMI,
    • S3,
    • Lambda,
    • Route53,
    • EKS and/or ECS,
    • ECR.

    Linux:

    • Ability to work in a shell environment on both EC2s and on-prem machines powered by Ubuntu,
    • Package maintenance for already existing and newly created environments
    • Debugging potential system-related issues in reasonable time.

    Kubernetes and Docker:

    • Basic understanding of Kubernetes architecture,
    • HELM package management,
    • Dockerfiles and images maintenance.

    Various:

    • GitLab CI/CD,
    • GitHub CI/CD,
    • Terraform Infrastructure-as-a-Code.

Both Rust and Substrate are becoming increasingly popular in the distributed ledger space, and the investment in learning the technology will only become more relevant over time—for the project, and for you as an individual.

    You’ll be working directly with the existing research and development team.

    We need to find someone who:

    • will become comfortable with Rust, Substrate, Linux,
    • will help to take different Aleph Zero modules from the conceptual modeling, through prototyping, to a target iteration,
    • will feel comfortable working amongst several development teams (consensus, Substrate integration, interoperability with existing blockchains, a virtual machine for smart contracts, multi-party computation),
    • can analyze and optimize the platform’s performance,
    • has a basic idea of running tests in a distributed environment,
    • can write technical documents for users, external teams, and communities.

    What will help you get there?

    • experience in Rust and Substrate is not required but would be a significant advantage,
    • basics of networking: TCP/IP, gossip protocols, building communication graphs,
    • basic knowledge of algorithms and data structures,
    • concurrent algorithms and distributed systems,
    • software testing,
    • CPU and memory optimizations,
    • experience in git,
    • at least a B2/C1 written and spoken English.

  • Social Media & Community Manager (m/f/div)

    Our project is reaching new milestones and seeks experts that will fuel its further growth.

    If you’re new to Aleph Zero—it’s a novel blockchain platform that’s focused on sustainable development goals and real-world use cases. Recently, we’ve started to explore pro-climate platform applications.

    Over the last two years, we’ve built the fastest infrastructure platform in the industry. Now, it’s about developing use-case-specific solutions on top of the protocol. That’s where you come in.

    You’ll be working directly with our in-house marketing and web development team.

    This is a full-time equivalent position.

    What you will do:
    • take responsibility and care of our social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Telegram, Discord, Twitter) and no, it’s not only about posting, it’s about understanding the dynamics, mechanisms, and appropriate usage of each channel according to the goals we want to achieve;
    • build and manage relationships with the audience and ultimately become the first point of contact for our community;
    • help to guard  the wording, consistency of style, and the way we communicate as an organization;
    • measure the results of campaigns and strategies; know how to pivot when necessary;
    • implement changes to strategies and bring new ideas to explain how a scientific approach to cryptography is the way to go in the blockchain industry will be crucial;
    • understanding that blockchain overall is just as important from a technological, as it is from a philosophical, economy, and sociological points of view;
    • measure and report the results of social media activities.
    What you need to start in this role:
    • experience in managing and growing social media profiles;
    • understanding the underlying mechanisms of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Telegram, Discord, and Twitter;
    • C2/native fluency in English: written and spoken;
    • willingness to try, verify, make mistakes, call them out and go further with lessons learned from them;
    • being a self-starter and results-driven;
    • high degree of ownership;
    • openness to a rapidly changing environment.
